About the Position: This position is located in Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg) is a military installation of the United States Army in and is one of the largest military installations in the world, with around 57,000 military personnel. It is located within Cumberland, Hoke, Harnett, and Moore counties and borders the towns of Fayetteville, Spring Lake, and Southern Pines.

Duties

Coordinate and arranges substitute teachers. Review outgoing correspondence for format, grammar, accuracy, conformance to office policy, completeness and coherence, and consistency. Prepare a variety of memorandums, documents, and forms. Compile information for reports. Maintain an office calendar and suspense files. Receive calls, greets visitors, and direct inquiries. Provide information and guidance on school procedures, reports, and requirements, as well as school programs, policies, procedures, and activities. Maintain personnel time and attendance records to adhere to DoDEA policies.

Requirements

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • One year probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. One year of specialized experience which includes: managing office calendars; reviewing correspondence to ensure accuracy; and maintaining office records in areas such as time and attendance, payroll and/or leave records. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement. In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position.
