This position serves as an Administrative Coordination Specialist for the Division of Intramural Research, Office of the Scientific Director, and provides specialized administrative coordination for the Office of the Scientific Director. The primary responsibility is space management for the DIR. The DIR has approximately 200,000 square feet of space.
Duties
Plans, manages, oversees, coordinates, and ensures all phases of major projects for construction, renovation, relocations for the Division of Intramural Research.
Serves as the DIR's expert and authority for emerging issues, trends, and technologies in the space planning and interior design/space planning field.
Identifies project requirements, determines priorities for the DIR after consultation with DIR and NIEHS management, develops plans and programming, establishes schedules, and develops the budget for the various projects.
Recommendations developed by the incumbent are for the purpose of improved utilization, alternative uses/options for meeting DIR's needs and for inclusion in DIR short- and long-range planning.
Interacts/serves as liaison with NIEHS Office of Research Facilities (ORF) on matters concerning space management and renovation projects including interior design and space planning requirements.
Formulates long-range budget projections and annual operating budget estimates for the DIR space management budgets (renovations, design/layouts, relocations, furniture, etc).
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Manage all phases of projects for construction and renovation for a large division or organization. 2.)Troubleshoot and offer advice as the subject matter expert to optimize utilization of space. 3.) Formulate and execute action plans to include resource allocation for new configurations and update space charts accordingly. 4.) Evaluating the impact of new program policies and determine measures of effectiveness in setting organizational goals and objectives.
