Duties

Serves as the Senior Advisor to the NIEHS Director, Deputy Director, Scientific Director, Executive Officer, and Office and Division Directors, and as the senior program manager for NIEHS facilities and space management, physical and personnel security, emergency preparedness and management, and continuity of operations. Directs, oversees, and implements policy, procedure, budgeting, management, and operations for these NIEHS programs. Oversees facilities and space management support programs for NIEHS. Leads a staff of professionals providing a variety of services associated with developing and implementing NIEHS facility and space management program policy and procedures. As the Chief of the Operations and Security Branch plans and organizes the functions of the branch, delegating appropriate functions and responsibilities to the heads of subordinate workgroups; ensures that positions are staffed with capable personnel with adequate training to perform their assigned duties; prepares performance standards and plans and develops and delivers employee annual reviews; approves leave; hears and resolves complaints; and initiates disciplinary action as needed.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

In order to qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing leadership, oversight of emergency preparedness and management, continuity of operations: providing physical security planning, communicating and disseminating advice and consultation to senior staff on issues and matters related to Security, Emergency operations and Space and Facility Management; overseeing implantation of policy, procedure, budgeting, and management. Coordinating and functionality of multidisciplinary infrastructure elements (i.e., buildings, grounds, and space); directs, oversees, guidance and technical advice in the area of space/facility management, planning, development, operations and quality.
