You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER (FORKLIFT OPERATOR) in the SUPPLY MANAGEMENT DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments to determine the placement of containers in and out of the warehouse.
You will load and unload materials for routing to storage areas.
You will review completed work to verify technical compliance with materials handling (e.g., receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing material) procedures.
You will obtain technical or inventory information on stocked items using automated systems.
You will safely operate a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, or other material handling equipment to gather items for shipment
You will follow safety regulations and practices for warehouse operations.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You must be able to obtain a Government Operator's license for mechanized equipment including utility vehicles.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
- This position is subject to recall and may require the incumbent to work other than normal duty hours inclusive of nights and weekend.
- You must obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator License for forklifts up to 6,000 lb.
- May be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents, and high noise areas while working in a mechanized work area, or radiation, toxins, explosives hazards, or chemical fumes while working in a hazardous materials area.
- May be required to wear protective clothing such as hard hats, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons.
- must be able to obtain a Government Operator's license for mechanized equipment including utility vehicles.
- May lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
