About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security - Future Operations on Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. Both visitors & residents enjoy the shops & eateries of downtown Hopkinsville & Clarksville. The cost of living is lower than the average for all major U.S. cities.

Duties

Manage daily operations of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Serve as the subject matter expert for management of all automated data, information, and systems within the EOC. Prepare and submit reports using data collection and analysis techniques IAW established SOPs and OPORDs. Develop, publish and track suspense of garrison Operations Orders (OPORD) and Tasking Directives (TASKORD) to ensure operational compliance with all Department of the Army and IMCOM orders. Provide development and production of plans, orders, and directives.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires possession of a valid state driver's license.
  • Tier 3 security investigation required. Incumbent is required to possess or obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Specialized experience for the Lead Operations Specialist, GS-12: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes: 1) Planning actions required to implement operations and contingency plans; 2) Conducting studies/reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of current and projected training operations; 3) Developing various routine and special reports concerning plans and operations; and 4) Preparing and delivering briefings. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementOral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingProblem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
