You will serve as an Electronics Technician in the Combat Systems Engineering Division, Combat Systems Test and Evaluation Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.

Duties

You will serve as a Senior Electronics Technician for the In-Service System Engineering Small Combatants Branch. You will provide program planning and technical direction for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) National Security Cutter (NSC) and Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) Programs. You will be knowledgeable with equipment assessments, operator and maintenance training, and live events. You will stress the ship and Combat System to assess its ability to meet technical and performance based specifications of National Security. You will provide technical guidance and assessment at Combat Systems Working-Level Integrated Product Team (WIPT) and Combat Systems Test Objective Working Group Meetings. You will assist with documentation research in support of Test Objective (TO) development for Non Navy-Type Navy-Owned (NTNO) systems. You will provide inputs to the system engineering process, design reviews, and identify technical solutions to shipboard deficiencies and anomalies.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical services by applying electronic engineering principles with expertise in the areas of integration or system design/development to provide technical direction for a ship combat or weapon systems Test and Evaluation program.
