Duties

You will develop and maintain standardized and specialized information and cartographic data products for GIS. You will prepare illustrations, maps, and charts using standard Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and drafting methods and cartographic principles. You will provide technical and cartographic assistance to GIS data and system users. You will use Environmental Software Research Institute (ESRI) software applications (e.g., ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS) to interpret required information for mapping. You will monitor and provide reports for Return on Investment, tracking and quality assurance/quality control procedures for GIS data maintenance and publishing.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to meet any applicable credentialing or privileging requirements prior to appointment.

Qualifications

NOTE* Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience in the private or public sector: 1) Develops and maintains standardized and specialized information and cartographic data products for GIS; 2) Maintains a current installation GIS user and editor contact list and disperses technical information to and from the GIS program manager; 3) Monitors and provides reports for Return on Investment, tracking and quality assurance/quality control procedures for GIS data maintenance and publishing; 4) Provides technical and cartographic assistance to GIS data and system users; and 5) Reviews and provides input of both internal and other organization's technical, policy documentation and briefs.
