You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT in the International Graduate Programs Office of NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL.
Duties
You will coordinate administrative documents using word processing, copying, scanning, collating, or performing binder preparation.
You will answer questions specific to training, property inventory, timekeeping, administrative, and clerical practices for an organization.
You will determine specific action to take to correct discrepancies, errors, or problems following instructions and procedures.
You will prepare a variety of lengthy documents or automated reports using office automation software, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, or graphic presentations.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- The work is mostly sedentary in nature. Some walking, stair climbing, standing, bending and some lifting, not to exceed 40 pounds is required.
- Work is performed in a typical office setting that is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. Participation in IGPO activities may take place in other indoor office spaces and/or outdoor locations.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Assist with the Travel Assistance (e.g. arrival, gate access) with students; 2) Advising International Students with their questions on living allowances, medical and local area services; 3) Assures and monitors financial accounts in support of Student Administrative Operations.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with inputting International Student information into an electronic database; 2) Assisting with determining a nature of a request and to direct visitors/ calls to the appropriate department; 3) Maintaining and preparing correspondences based on administrative guidance.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-05: I have successfully completed four years of education above high school level.
