You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Research & Development Group, Weapons & Energetics Dept, Fuze & Warhead Division, Fuze Assessment & Components Branch of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will assist the test engineer in the operation, setup and running of instrumentation equipment.
You will learn the processes for the pressing and weighing of primary and secondary explosive material.
You will perform ordnance assessment on various ordnance components under the guidance of a Team Leader or Test Engineer.
You will provide basic support on Lot Acceptance Testing (LAT) and Ordnance Assessment (OA) testing under the supervision of a team leader.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current ordnance certification.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Assisting engineers in the assembly and disassembly of explosive components from safety-arming devices and fuzing systems under the supervision of a Team Leader; 2) Handling explosive components and the operation of environmental test equipment, vibration and shock, temperature and humidity; 3) Assisting in the engineering development for research and documentation.
