About the Position: This position serves in the G8 Section of the U.S. Army 20th Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosive (CBRNE) Command, a Major Subordinate Command level organization. The 20th CBRNE Command exercises control over units located throughout a large geographic area.
Duties
Performs professional work requiring the application of accounting, budgeting, and systems analysis to ensure that financial management and accounting systems produce accurate results and meet legal and regulatory requirements.
The incumbent analyzes financial management systems for inconsistencies in data output and propose changes in policy and program operations.
Solves unusual Major Subordinate Command (MSC) Headquarters DTS problems, collects statistical Defense Travel System (DTS) data for the MSC headquarters and suspense's subordinates on required DTS report requirements.
Provides financial management assistance to customers regarding purchase requests and the proper procedures for initiating a requirement.
Requirements

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Incumbent of this position is required to obtain the certification of a Financial Management (FM) Level 2 with in the required time may subject to adverse action.
- Some overtime work will be required during heavy workload periods, e.g., year-end budget close-out activities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes
1) assist customers in the resolution of problems pertaining to financial management issues; AND
2) assist in collecting financial data for organizational reporting requirements; AND
3) review requests for access to financial systems in order to determine that the appropriate criteria have been met.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business administration, finance, economics or accounting.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
