As the Administrative Officer the Engineering Directorate at JSC, you will be responsible for a variety of personnel related matters for the Directorate and utilize a network of Division Administrative Officers to implement policy and tasks. You will provide input, logistics, and various level of coordination for many exiting outreach activities for the Directorate personnel and the Engineering Management team.
Duties
Duties described below are at the full-performance level. Duties assigned at a lower grade level will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
Provide Administrative Officer functions for the Engineering Directorate and EA1, EA12 and EA13. Assist with hiring and personnel requests. Provide guidance and assistance for awards, training, travel and other personnel needs.
Lead the Administrative Officer team of the Directorate by providing information and guidance, answering questions, and advising as necessary.
Assist the Engineering Directorate on workforce strategy efforts and manage workforce allocations within the Directorate.
Manage the Directorate's Award process including an annual call for nominees, determining and distributing award budgets, and overseeing the coordination for award presentations (i.e. logistics, RSVPs, award history, award demographics, etc.).
Oversee the performance evaluation and planning process for the Directorate to enable on-time completion of tasks. Coordinate with Administrative Officers for them to enable timely completion within their respective organizations.
Manage logistics and assist with a variety of intermittent tasks such as retreat logistics, WebTADS revalidation, employee clearance forms, NAMS requests and approvals, drug testing notifications, document reviews, and other items as appropriate.
Requirements
- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
- If the individual selected is currently at the GS-12 grade level, they will be detailed at their current grade and step. If the individual is a current GS-11 they will be temporarily promoted to the GS-12 level.
Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:
Providing advice and guidance for personnel-related matters, such as hiring process, performance planning and review process, awards programs, training, travel, and/or timecard processing;
Collecting and integrating data, assessing data for trends and similarities, and recommending options based on assessment;
Providing administrative support to organizational management, working independently on projects requiring research and compiling and presenting findings.
