Duties
You will be responsible for the configuration of patching and remediation tools, creating scripts for custom security policies, and researching and resolving new security vulnerabilities on a variety of platforms.
You will be responsible for ensuring that end user information systems are scanned on a regular basis, providing guidance to other system administrators with regard to remediation methods.
You will be responsible for helping with developing accreditation packages and applying these policies onto the network.
You will serve as a team member responsible for the administration and user support for division and laboratory wide IT environments on both unclassified and classified networks.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the hardware and software associated with these environments is installed and configured to meet information assurance best practices.

Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position requires demonstrated experience in Cybersecurity, Navy Systems Accreditations, and team leadership.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05-10 grade level or pay band (NO-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1.) Configuring of patching, researching and resolving new security vulnerabilities; 2.) Ensuring that end user information systems are scanned on a regular basis; 3.) Providing guidance to other system administrators with regard to remediation methods, investigating systems problems and general user support; and 4.) Developing accreditation packages and applying these policies onto the network.

Education
The following may be substituted in lieu of specialized experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management;
or
Successful completion of 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
