Duties

You will receive and track customer requests for support and incidents from initial receipt of the request or notification of the incident through completion. You will provide end user support for client endpoint issues, troubleshooting and resolving all client endpoint issues. You will provide new desktops/laptops and mobile clients, mobile phones, user accounts, installation and configuration of application software on client devices. You will deploy operating system and application patches, provisioning and installation of peripherals and printers. You will troubleshoot and resolve client issues, monitor environmental health monitoring systems, maintenance and management of conference room audio/visual systems and VTC systems.

Qualifications

You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (APPSW/OS) within the Cyber Operations Division, Code 194100 at the NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. NO-3 In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11/12 grade level or pay band (NO-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of the Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems; 2) Knowledge of information technology infrastructure and associated protocols; 3) Knowledge of computer networking, network communication protocols, and tools for troubleshooting network communications between end points; 4) Communicate technical issues to end users orally and in writing; 5) Knowledge of application software found in business and academic environments, to include MS Office products, web browsers, Java, Adobe, and endpoint management agents; and 6) Knowledge of common IT management frameworks. NO-4 In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band (NO-03) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ability to lead teams, mentor less experienced staff, and manage projects; 2) Knowledge of the Microsoft Windows client and server operating system to include installation, configuration, and maintenance; 3) Knowledge about information technology infrastructure and associated protocols; 4) Knowledge of computer networking, network communication protocols, and tools for troubleshooting network communications between end points; 5) Ability to communicate technical issues to end users orally and in writing; 6) Knowledge of application software found in business and academic environments, to include MS Office products, web browsers, Java, Adobe, and endpoint management agents; and 7) Knowledge of common IT management frameworks. Education

The following may be substituted in lieu of specialized experience for NO-03:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management;

or

Successful completion of 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

A combination of education and experience totaling 100%.

There is no substitution for specialized experience for the NO-04.
