Duties
As a RESILIENCE AND RISK REDUCTION PROGRAM SPECIALIST, GS-0301-09, you will:
This position is located in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO), of an Army National Guard (ARNG).The primary purpose of this position is to develop, evaluate, coordinate and deliver comprehensive,target group oriented preventive education and training and administrative support in administeringthe Resilience, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention Program (R3/SPP). The primary objective ofresilience is to help Soldiers, families and units develop the resiliency to overcome and respondpositively to adversity. The primary objective of risk reduction is to identify units and individualswith high risk profiles, and to provide low risk decision making education to increase the readinessof the soldier. Work requires knowledge of the methods and techniques of education and training insuch areas as instruction, development and/or evaluation of curricula, instructional materials andaids. The incumbent also coordinates with the Counter Drug Office or State Alcohol and DrugChemical Officer (ADCO) to provide soldiers treatment that is recommended for substance abuseissues.

- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Qualifications
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Enlisted up to SFC. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training in any position that required compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.

Knowledge of regulations, policies, and guidance affecting the use of resources and related support resources (money equipment, and people) to plan, coordinate, implement, and manage the programs in compliance with established requirements, standards, and objectives.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interacting with soldiers/families and program support representatives.
Knowledge of human services matters and programs benefiting families, and military and civilian employees, in addition to policies, practices, and procedures, including methods used to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward their achievements and the impact military and family members' quality of life.
Skill in fact finding techniques, oral and written communications, development of presentations, classes and reports, and application of mature judgment in problem solving.
