Duties
As a Military and Family Readiness Manager, GS-0301-12, you will:
The Military and Family Readiness Manager is assigned to the Joint Forces Headquarters and reports to the Manpower and Personnel Directorate (J-1), or TAG-designated representative. Position is responsible to budget, direct, plan, develop, articulate, implement, provide quality assurance, training and assistance for all aspects of Service member and Family Readiness Programs; and supervise and administer program services to National Guard Service members and their families beginning from the Recruit Sustainment Program through the entire military lifecycle. Enables the provision of, or referral to, services for service and family members of deployed military personnel regardless of service or component (Army, Marines, Air Force, etc.).

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Qualifications
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Officer: 2LT to LTC. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Knowledge to develop and administer family readiness policies; ensure policy relates to missions, functions, organization, major issues, work processes, goals objectives and programs in order to direct, plan, develop, and implement programs designed to improve and maintain National Guard family readiness and quality of life.
Skill to research, analytical and evaluative techniques and methods (and the ability to adapt as appropriate) to analyze reports, gather data, review suggestions, and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the National Guard service member and family readiness programs.
Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and precedents governing Service Member and Family Readiness Programs and the Child & Youth Services Program and affecting the use of resources and related support resources (money equipment, and people) to implement these programs.
Ability to communicate effectively to develop command level briefings, provide written guidance, provide technical assistance, and communicate orally.
