Duties

As a VICTIM ADVOCATE COORDINATOR, GS-0301-9 you will:

Requirements

  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must have a favorable completion and award of a Tier 3 background investigation as directed by DoD and NGB to conduct duties and responsibilities as a SAPR Professional.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Perform irregular/overtime hours in support of operational requirements and contingencies
  • Must possess or be able to obtain the proper clearance type and level within one year of appointment according to DoD Personnel Security Program Management Directives.
  • Must comply with DODI 6495.03, February 28, 2020; or, the most recent DOD instruction published for the Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP)
  • Must meet the D-SAACP certification requirements to provide victim assistance services in the military community in accordance with DoDI 6495.03
  • Newly appointed SAPR Professional will be required submit the DD Form 2950, must be submitted by the next D-SAACP review board.
  • The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Must obtain and maintain current required certifications in self-aid buddy care and first aid.
  • The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle: if so, and an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
  • This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
  • Required to obtain and maintain D-SAACP certification and maintain certification through meeting annual continuing education training requirements.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: General Experience -Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. Specialized Experience - 1 year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of sexual assault prevention and response (SAPR) or sexual harassment/assault response and prevention (SHARP) programs. Skill to develop training materials with the ability to facilitate effective interactive trainings in sexual harassment and sexual assault. Knowledge of military organizations, missions, lifestyles, and situations which can contribute to individual and family stress, problems and crisis situations. Skill in managing or providing crisis intervention for sexual assaults.
