You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the Public Safety, Fire and Emergency Services division of NAS KINGSVILLE TX.
Duties
You will locate, Isolate, and identify actual or potential fire hazards and fire safety deficiencies and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
You will present fire protection and prevention education or training to employees.
You will review engineering plans and specifications for new construction, alterations, and extension of existing structures.
You will coordinate placement of firefighting equipment or other resources during emergencies.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical expertise, advice, and supervision in fire protection efforts; 2) Inspecting facilities and structures for fire hazards; 3) Conducting training on fire safety practice and procedures.
This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Airport Firefighter, Fire Officer I, Fire Inspector I & II, Fire Instructor I, Hazmat Awareness Operations, Emergency First Responder, and Emergency Vehicle Operator Course. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC, or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications or fail to provide proof of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
