About the Position: This position is located at the US Army Human Resources Command, Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, Force Alignment Division, Retention & Reclass Branch.
Duties
Serve as Army Program Manager for MOS-level Strength Management through the Retention and Reclassification Programs
Serve as the RETAIN System Analyst/Manager with responsibility for operation, maintenance and management of the automated system for reenlistments, reclassifications, retirements and separations.
Research historical documentation for use in developing recommendations for improved operations or action processing.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
- The employee may be required to work overtime.
- Must be able to Obtain and Maintain a Secret Clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service that involves experience in military personnel regulations, policies, and principles pertaining to military retention and reclassifications. Experience in automated systems relative to the RETAIN data system and data processing functions to support the installation's information needs. Experience which demonstrates applicant's understanding in analyzing facts, identifying problems, report findings, make conclusions, and recommend corrective or other appropriate action. Must be able to effectively express ideas and findings orally and in writing.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Education

Master or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 36. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify (Must provide a copy of transcripts).
