About the Position: This position is located at the G8 Office at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Screen telephone calls to direct caller to appropriate staff member.
Coordinate travel itineraries for distinguished visitors.
Perform a variety of office management/administrative duties to ensure the efficient operation of the office.
Ensure timely action on suspense items.
Provide administrative and/or procedural assistance to other command administrative personnel.
Review outgoing correspondence for accuracy.

- This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position; compliance is required with all Department of Defense/ Department of the Army program certification requirements. Failure to do so within the required time may be subject to adverse action.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: utilizing automated systems to research, develop, analyze and prepare correspondence/reports; reviewing outgoing correspondence/reports for accuracy; maintaining a suspense tracking system to assist management with projects and programs; maintaining operational calendars for staff members; and utilizing such systems as the defense travel system (DTS) to arrange travel and coordinate itineraries for staff and distinguished visitors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Qualified Typist Requirement: In addition to meeting the experience requirements, for all positions titled as Office Automation or any clerical positions which has parenthetical title of Office Automation (OA), applicants must have a typing proficiency of 40 words per minute (wpm).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements.
