About the Position:
This position is assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (DASD (MC&FP), Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)).
Duties
Review assigned programs for potential efficiencies based on joint service initiatives and/or federal partnership opportunities.
Utilize expert knowledge of child, youth, and school liaison programming and policy to develop policy and planning strategies.
Evaluate, integrate, and analyze policies, requirements, and issues impacting the child, youth, and school liaison programs, among the Military Departments and within the Department of Defense (DoD).
Develop and implement major long- and short-term initiatives within the child and youth system of care.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set, and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
Develop, monitor, and evaluate contracts related to child, youth, and school liaison program policy or support.
Advise on a broad range of policies and services addressing the needs and challenges of military members and their families seeking quality care, youth programs, and school liaison support for their eligible children.
Requirements

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes establishing objectives to promote quality support programs addressing the needs of service member and their families, developing policy advancing child, youth and/or school liaison programming for service members and their families, conducting analysis of child, youth, and/or school liaison programming, collaborating with stakeholders, and performing a full range of first-level supervisory responsibilities, such as assigning work to subordinates, evaluating work performance of subordinates, interviewing candidates for positions and identifying training needs of employee. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
