About the Position: This position is located at the Homeland Defense at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Serve as a Supply Specialist, of the supply function for the Incident Response Training Department (IRTD) and Homeland Defense Civil Support Office (MSCoE). Coordinate all work order requirements, keeping up-to-date with work actions. Research vendors, initiate contracts, and negotiate prices. Research, write, and process purchase requests and requirements contracts for supplies, recurring services, and equipment fabrication. Perform or supervise daily warehousing activities involving the transfer of heavy (over 50 lbs.), oversized, and palletized loads between the training sites and warehouses. Maintain the technical and administrative publication library for logistical reference materials.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent will be required to pass and maintain forklift operator certification.
  • Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
