About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Military Police School, Dir of Training and Education on Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Serve as the course manager and primary instructor/writer for the Sexual Assault Investigations Course (SAIC).
Conduct course administration through scheduling classes, requesting support materials for classes and maintaining class records to include student academic records.
Provide coordination with military and nonmilitary agencies for guest speakers and special visitors.
Coordinate training requirements with user to ensure that requested training needs are met in a timely manner with existing resources.
Analyze requirements, develop a training plan in concert with the priorities outlined in the DOD directives and DA Policy and recommend courses of action which maximize training impact within resource constraints
Incorporate a full range of training strategies (discussion, gaming, tutorial, drill, and practice simulation), to include a range of instructional training aids (computer video disks, CD ROM, interactive software).
Conduct research studies and behavioral analysis of gaps in law enforcement training, investigations and trauma.
Develop research methodologies and design strategies utilizing qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate ability and capability gaps in law enforcement performance.
Work in partnership with colleges and universities, behavioral science and law enforcement professional organizations on research, studies and applicable efforts
Provide support across the DOD as needed and develops feedback with field units to maintain accurate and relative course instruction
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent of this position may be required to perform shift work, work irregular tours of duty, perform overtime and work weekends and holidays.
- Heavy physical lifting of items up to and including 50 pounds will be required and incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment.
- This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes:1.) administering training programs, 2.) developing or reviewing training/course materials, aids, devices, etc. and evaluating training results, 3.)working in the behavioral analysis/psychology field that requires training or instruction others on a regular basis with concentrations in such areas as child sexual abuse, domestic/family violence and sexual assault. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
