You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the PRTR Range Operations Branch of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. You will perform duties as the EEA Site Lead, directing technicians performing project tasks related to Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDTE) test range operations. You will provide expert advice and guidance to others as well as perform day-to-day supervisory duties managing onsite personnel.
Duties
You will provide direction, coaching, mentoring and feedback to employees consistent with management guidelines.
You will manage and assign workload based on qualifications, certifications, safety considerations (e.g. explosive or range safety).
You will implement operational efficiencies of tasks related to range operations, range safety, and explosive safety considerations using knowledge of Naval ordnance and weapons systems.
You will provide expert advice on new and emerging technologies or resolving major technical problems related to Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation.
You will facilitate testing requirements to ensure proper implementation of guidance and procedures.
You will manage setup and execution of Naval ordnance and weapons systems Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation in accordance with the safety requirements, e.g. explosive qualifications and certifications.
You will ensure risk mitigation controls/methods have been implemented for explosive and hazardous operations.
You will develop and maintain resource schedule as well as implement process improvements and increase operational efficiencies based on understanding of testing requirements, range safety, and explosive safety.
You will interface with multiple base activities (e.g. range safety, explosive safety, range operations center) to implement project and meet requirements.
Requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent), or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience providing technical engineering advice and guidance to others that resolve issues related to weapons systems or Naval ordnance technical engineering services/operations.
