You will serve as a Technician in the Systems Security Engineering Branch of NAVSURFWARCENDLD.

Duties

You will serve as a Program Guidance Engineering (PGE) Technician subject matter expert in an integrated product team environment, working alongside engineers and performing programmatic and technical leadership. You will ensure program offices are provided sufficient protection to the warfighter and products, balancing programmatic and technical risk with prospective warfighter benefits. You will perform research support, project engineering/program management, design and development, testing and evaluation, or engineering/life-cycle support. You will be responsible for planning, conducting projects requiring interpretation, selection and extension of appropriate precedents. You will be responsible for time/money constraints and coordinating efforts of personnel/contractors to meet constraints limitations. You will provide advice as a technical expert to exchange information, coordinate projects, resolve problems, and clarify technical information.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

FOR NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating or conducting engineering technical work supporting development, test and evaluation, safety, regulatory compliance, or troubleshooting the installation or modernization of maritime or naval systems environment.
