Duties
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as Deputy Chief, Mobility Support Operations Division in the Directorate of Operations, Strategic Deterrence, and Nuclear Integration at Headquarters Air Mobility Command (AMC), sharing with the Division Chief the full scope of responsibility for directing the activities of the Division and, in the chief's absence, possesses the same authority and prerogatives.
Works with the Division Chief in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Division.
Participates with the Division Chief in the exercise of supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Serves as the command focal point for Contingency Response Forces and US Transportation Command's (USTRANSCOM) global En Route System.

- Rated Air Force aviator experience (e.g., pilot, navigator) is critical to the successful completion of the work.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions- Management and Program Analysis (0343).
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). My experience includes Knowledge of the policies, principles, concepts, guidance, procedures, techniques, and methodologies pertaining to mobility support operations, flight operations, airlift, deployment and training; Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of DOD and Air Force organizations to provide command level staff guidance and/or program goals and objectives; the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events; and the relationship of the various command entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations and evaluations; . Knowledge of the application of Air Force rated aviator (e.g., pilot, navigator) expertise as it applies to assigned programs, and assigned weapon systems.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
