You will serve as a Domestic Animal Control in the Domestic Animal Control and Parking Enforcement Office, Service Section, Provost Marshal's Office of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will periodically patrol the installation for stray, abandoned or neglected animals to transport them to the local County Animal Shelter.
You will investigate reports of animal bites or aggression; isolating and detaining the animal until appropriate action can be taken.
You will take statements from victims or witnesses to document incidents.
You will respond, investigate, and document reports of animal abuse or neglect.
You will administer the Installations and Environment Department's Feral Trapping Program for cats and dogs.
You will evaluate animals for suspected medical conditions and ensure a safe and clean-living condition.
Requirements

- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You must have reached your 18th birthday prior to appointment.
- You must pass a written deadly force test prior to being issued Oleoresin Capsicum (OC Spray).
- You will be subject to call back and may be required to carry an electronic device for call back.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Handling, controlling and transporting stray, wild, domestic, abandoned, neglected, and/or abused animals; 2) Recognizing observable signs of illness (including rabies), common diseases, discontent, and general physical conditions of animals; and 3) Entering, manipulating, and retrieving data for needed reports and statistics.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
- Successfully completed 4 years above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite; or
- A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
