Duties

As a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Responsible for overseeing the development of external and internal communication Strategies; Responsible for the implementation of external and internal communication strategies; Advises senior agency officials on Public Affairs policy, programs, and operations; Responds to national and local media on significant agency issues and operations; and Supervises assigned public affairs officers, writers, and support staff. Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement reflects the lowest and highest potential salaries for this position. You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Developing strategies and materials that informs the public of organization's policies, programs, services, and activities; Proactive engagement with media and advising senior leadership on media response strategies; Analyze media engagement strategies and interpret feedback to determine approaches to best educate and inform; Working on communication plans and strategies establishing scope, objectives, deadlines, and contingency plans meeting approval channels and procedures; AND Developing news releases, messages, and talking points working with stakeholders. Time in Grade Requirement GS-14: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
