You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT of NAVINFOWARDEVCEN NORFOLK.
Duties
You will function as the Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
You will ensure the security of force's Information Systems.
You will define vulnerabilities and oversee the installation of physical and technical security countermeasures to prevent unauthorized use, abuse, or loss of command information systems or data.
You will develop and manage Information Systems cyber security, including disaster recovery, database protection, and software development.
You will be responsible for analyzing program effectiveness and identifies trends throughout the force in terms of meeting federal and Agency Information Awareness (IA) goals and objectives.
You will ensure the security of force's Information Systems.

Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY MANAGER, proficiency level Advanced.
- The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing and managing Information Systems cyber security, including (but not limited to) disaster recovery, database protection, and software development.
Experience developing and delivering Information Security standards (IS), best practices, architecture, and systems to ensure information system security across the enterprise.
Experience preparing and coordinating the force accreditation and Information Assurance (IA) operating instructions, memoranda, and briefings necessary to explain and implement policy and procedural changes to all supported elements.
Experience monitoring systems through audit capabilities for attempted or successful breaches of security.
Your experience in the information technology field must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
