Duties
You will serve as the Assistant Chief of Emergency Medical Services.
You will plan, organize, coordinate, monitor and evaluate all technical and administrative aspects of the emergency medical services program.
You will develop programs to improve and maintain emergency medical system services.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC).
Qualifications

For The GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing all aspects of assigned shift to include providing planning, oversight, recommendations and monitoring of subordinate staff; 2) Perform the planning and submission of a training budget to include ensuring complete records of the budget are maintained; 3) Serving as Senior Fire Officer at actual firefighting and rescue operations; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents, operating fire communications equipment, performing rescue operations, and controlling or extinguishing fires; and 5) Managing a training program ensuring employees are trained in areas of structural firefighting, shipboard firefighting, aircraft rescue firefighting, emergency medical services, fire inspection techniques, hazardous materials, confined space rescue procedures, apparatus driving and operation, and equipment operation. In addition, for the GS-12, this position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: 1) Fire Officer I, 2) Fire Officer II, 3) Fire Officer III, 4) Fire Inspector I, 5) Fire Inspector II, 6) Fire Instructor I, 7) Fire Instructor II, 8) HAZMAT Incident Commander, 9) National Registry Paramedic. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. NOTE: If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not submitted copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Developing and monitor the training program to ensure employees are trained in areas of structural firefighting, shipboard firefighting, aircraft rescue firefighting, emergency medical services, fire inspection techniques, hazardous materials, confined space rescue procedures, apparatus driving and operation, and equipment operation; 2) Managing all aspects of assigned fire stations by providing planning, oversight, recommendations, and monitoring of subordinate staff; 3) Providing input into the development of budget and ensuring reports and records are maintained as appropriate for area of responsibility; and 4) Serving as Senior Fire Officer at actual firefighting and rescue operations. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
