You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the Fire and Operations Department of COMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK.
Duties
You will approve or disapprove a disciplinary action (e.g., suspension, termination, personnel action) for a junior firefighter or employee.
You will set work priorities to achieve optimum economy and efficiency of fire operations.
You will develop long-range plans (e.g., facilities, manpower and material resources, training programs, prevention and suppression techniques) for a
fire program.
You will direct firefighters during structural, aircraft, and shipboard fire suppression and extinguishing.
You will determine education and training requirements to establish training methods for fire personnel.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment, weighing up to 100 pounds.
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Responding to emergency incidents and directing fire suppression, rescue operations, and emergency medical resources (EMS) in immediate mitigation actions; 2) Leading or managing personnel in the delivery of basic life support or advanced life support including supervision of ground ambulance transportation service; 3) Delivering accurate, effective, and professional oral and written communications to include documentation and communication of employee appraisals and preparation of explanatory papers, correspondence, and investigative fire and EMS reports; and 4) Managing personnel and projects in multiple specialties and special function areas.
NOTE: This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer IV, Inspector II, Instructor II, HAZMAT Incident Commander D/O Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting, EMT, CPR. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
