This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Serves as the J4 OCS Division's lead for planning, coordinating, and integrating OCS and commercial capability considerations into joint education and training policy, doctrine, guidance, processes, and exercises, Operational Contract Support, and various CJCS issuances, recognizing the importance of contracted support and commercial capability, with contractors comprising more than half of the total force.

Duties

As a OCS EDUCATION AND TRAINING ANALYST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Formulates and coordinates the officer and enlisted professional military education policy for the U.S. MIlitary. Develops policy standards for the Department of Defense's (DOD) intermediate-level and senior-level colleges that are synchronized with the Joint Staff's education review process and the process for accreditation of joint professional military education. Organizes, leads, and facilitates education policy working groups to foster collaboration across the DOD, Services, intermediate-level and senior-level colleges, and combatant commands (CCMD), to ensure that education policy remains current, relevant, and is consistent. Coordinates Joint Staff responses to education initiatives from across the DOD. Collaborates with education experts within and outside the DOD to ensure that learning methodologies are aligned.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Creating reports, projects, policies, legislative responses, briefings, proposals, and similar documentation for military education. Skilled at coordinating across large organizations, influencing senior staff, and providing expert advice. Leading teams, presenting and defending findings, and fostering effective relationships. Formulating and coordinating education policy, proposing new military education initiatives, and conducting studies to evaluate and recommend improvements to military education initiatives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
