This position is part of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy - Headquarters, Department of Energy. As a Management and Program Analyst, you will be monitoring the Deputy Assistant Secretary's email, monitoring and tracking documents, and updating a briefing book.
Duties
As a full performance level, Managment and Program Analyst you will:
Maintain a briefing book and track all due dates and notes.
Monitor meetings and speaking requests with staff; assist in preparation.
Evaluate and track items in a workflow system to include correspondence, memos and staffing actions.
Analyze and manage individual projects.
Requirements

- This position does not support 100% remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 2 days per pay period.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
For the GS-09: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of 3 of the following:
Aiding in tracking documents and requests in a workflow system.
Assisting in maintaining a briefing book and tracking information.
Participating with staff on meetings and speaking requests.
OR Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
For the GS-12: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:
Tracking documents and requests in a workflow system.
Maintaining a briefing book and tracking information.
Consulting with staff on meetings and speaking requests.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as scoring in the in Well Qualified category (or higher).

Education
If substituting education for specialized experience you must submit proof of your qualifying education. Failure to provide college transcripts may result in a rating of 'Ineligible'. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
