Serves as a File Maintenance Supervisor at a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) HQ facility. The primary purpose of this position serves as a File Maintenance Supervisor in the Sales Directorate at the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) Headquarters. This is a developmental position. Work assignments are progressively complex and intended to broaden your skills and provide you with practical experience to prepare you to perform at the target grade level.

Duties

Perform records search, data input, and data corrections in DeCA's Business Systems. Works directly with the Lead File Maintenance Assistant(s) to ensure their instruction on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines are met. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. This position offers promotion potential to a higher grade. To prepare you for the higher grade, work assignments will be progressively more complex. After meeting all qualifications and requirements for the next grade level and with your supervisor's recommendation, you may be promoted without further competition. For GS-09: (A) one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-7 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military, OR (B) a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with major study in business administration, public administration, agricultural economics (food industry management), or other fields related to the position, OR (C) a combination of experience and education that equals 100% of the qualification requirements. To compute the percentage of experience and education you have that meets the qualification requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours by 60. Add the two percentages. Examples of qualifying specialized experience: Distribute and balance the workload among employees. Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all data entry and management and oversight of that data. Plays a critical role in savings, margin and revenue support To qualify at the GS-11, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level (or equivalent) by the closing date of this announcement OR a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. This experience may have been gained in the private or military sector. Examples of qualifying specialized experience: Exercise delegated managerial authority to set a series of annual, multiyear, or similar types of long-range work plans and schedules for in-service work. Assures implementation of File Maintenance goals and objectives by the subordinates and the program functions they oversee and manage. Communicates performance standards to subordinates and issues formal performance appraisals and awards. You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date: Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA.
