Duties

You will provide guidance to program office representatives in Technical Data Package (TDP) acquisition planning and lifecycle management planning to include sustainment, storage, and distribution of 2D engineering drawings and CAD/CAM/CAE files. You will provide advice to program offices on Integrated Master Schedule activities directly and indirectly related to TDP acquisition and development, and product baseline management. You will assess and provide guidance in TDP requirements for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs and International Partnerships. You will assess and provide guidance in TDP transference to government control and management, manage risk mitigation activities associated with CORE/Title 10 Depot and other In-service cognizant activities needs You will perform analysis of program customers’ lifecycle requirements and intended operational environment and determine/recommend best approach and/or alternatives for naval aviation programs and Fleet Support Teams. You will apply emerging technology applicable to TDP and PLM to improvement of processes for creation/sustainment of 3D models and their application/use in production, manufacturing, quality, and reprocurement processes. You will apply expertise and communication skills in the writing/editing and critiquing of specifications, standards, and other documentation relevant to TDPs and weapon systems program office TDP Strategies. You will develop and present formal and informal training on TDP topics to increase the knowledge, skills, and abilities of other team members and interns.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying concepts, principles, and practices of all aspects of Technical Data Package(TDP) elements and products related to complex weapons systems, including 2D and 3D TDPs and Model Based Definition (MBD) practices and standards; 2) Demonstrating knowledge of TDP related Information Technology (IT) and commercial CAD/CAM/CAE software, production, manufacturing, quality, and re-procurement processes and policies related to TDP lifecycle management; 3) Conducting TDP related reviews and audits of engineering drawings, product design data, Physical Configuration Audits, data rights, and complex drawing/model reviews to determine the adequacy of a TDP; and 4) Applying and assessing project management processes, including project planning, cost estimation and analysis, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
