About the Position: This position is located at Department of Defense Education Activity, Americans Souteast District, Pierce Terrace, Elementary School, located at Fort Jackson, Richard, South Caroliana.
This position is covered by AFGE Consolidated and DoDEA CBA March 15 2018 bargaining unit.
Duties
Utilize supply and logistic support systems for standard requisitioning, stock, storing, records and issuing procedures.
Verify and record serial numbers upon receipt of goods, bar codes items.
Assure school support requirements are prepared, edited, and submitted to the Area Director's office for the purchase of supplies and equipment.
Serve as property custodian maintaining a perpetual inventory of non-expendable property and supply records for durable items in the school.
Assist in monitoring the school safety and security programs to ensure compliance with program requirements of DoDEA and the supporting military installation.
Assist Area and District personnel with physical security inspections to ensure adequate security measures are in place and adhered to.
Assure all supply transactions are recorded in an automated system and that copies of documents are file appropriately to maintain an adequate automated and hard-copy audit trail.
Set or revise stock levels for authorized items available through the supply system.
Requirements
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- One year trial or probationary period may be required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
- This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining inventory records; ordering and tracking supplies; utilizing supply automated systems to record transactions; and managing a purchase card program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
