About the Position: This position located near Columbia, SC. It's a filled with history preserved in museums, churches, monuments and plantation houses. Its mild climate encourages visitors and residents to participate in some form of outdoor recreation nearly year-round. . The city is located in the center of the state.

Duties

Provide operational support for all ranges to include preventative maintenance of all automated targeting systems. Utilize judgment and initiative to make on-site decisions to prevent dangerous situations from occurring which could lead to serious injuries and loss of life. Responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled range and training land maintenance support for live fire and small arms ranges, training areas and training facilities. Inspect ranges and training areas to determine compliance with applicable safety and environmental standards. Utilize Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) maintains information on range and training area ammunition expended, and personnel utilization. Operate motor vehicles (i.e., tractor, pick-up truck, all-terrain vehicles, ground maintenance equipment, etc.) with a gross weight of up to 30,000 pounds to transport materials, equipment and supplies on the installation Authorize the occupation of, opening, check fire, cease fire, and closing of all live fire ranges, artillery and mortar firing points, training facilities and training areas through operation/communication via multiple radio nets and on site.
