About the Position: Serves as a Writer-Editor and provide editorial and policy support to the U.S. Army Enterprise Services Agency, Army Publishing Directorate, Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Review work of the Army Publishing Directorate (APD) staff and action officers for editorial quality and consistency and compliance with established style, format, content guidance, accuracy, and appropriateness.
Develop and implement the agency's editorial policies, practices, guidelines, and standards. Provides authoritative guidance on editorial matters to personnel.
Maintain awareness of current Government writing and reporting style and format requirements, and works directly with appropriate senior officials to resolve questions about its content and technical application
throughout the Army.
Edit and write other material, including congressional testimony on the agency’s position on matters before Congress and correspondence to the Secretary of the Army, Army Secretariat, and members of Congress.
Work closely with authors during the revision process to achieve a substantial degree of balance between the often differing opinions of command and staff so that each viewpoint is presented fairly.
Assesses whether technical matters can be clearly understood and determines whether findings support the recommendations and the overall conclusions of the document.
Develop tables, figures, or charts to depict material data when judged necessary to support conclusions.
Review and analyzes congressional legislation and policy, as well as direction and guidance from higher authorities (such as DOD, the Joint Staff, and so on) for program impact and implication on the Army.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- You may be expected to travel up to 5% for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes manage multiple publishing projects simultaneously from inception until publication; develop publication policies or procedures for an organization; and create original electronic publishing materials.
