About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF OFFICE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS FORT BELVOIR, VA.

Duties

Responsible for producing a broad range of creative, informative print and electronic products in support of the Command Information (CI) program. Responsible for providing similar Command Information program assistance to organizations and tenants supported by the installation through formal memoranda. Responsible for understanding the organization’s mission, its functions, and applicable policies and procedures, and possess the skill to apply this knowledge in solving a wide variety of complex management support problems. Assist the Chief of Public Affairs with media relations and community relations activities.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• Temporary Duty (TDY) travel will be required up to 5% of the time.
• All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid motor vehicle operating license to operate sedans, station wagons, and other light vehicles and trucks.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
