You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the ACADEMICS BRANCH, MARINE CORPS ENGINEER SCHOOL of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
Duties
You will design new training courses that conform to existing guidelines and precedents and revise courses that require modifications.
You will develop learning maps and perform learning analyses from the initial training levels through the operating levels of tasks or jobs.
You will coordinate learning analysis to determine learning objectives (LOs) with the assistance of subject matter experts (SMEs).
You will develop courseware (i.e., complete narrative texts, instructor's manuals, supplemental study guides, case studies, instructional media, visual aids, computer aided study, and practical exercises) that enhances training.
You will identify and review manpower, equipment, facility, and training support requirements.
You will enter, update, and maintain data in the Marine Corps Training Information Management System and design test instruments and training materials that are accurate and functional within facility constraints.
You will monitor delivery of instruction by periodic observation of training sessions, evaluate effectiveness of training and provide recommendations for changes.
You will assist in the review, reproduction, and distribution of class schedules and prepare academic correspondence and reports.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing quality control and uniformity in the implementation of courseware development and documentation; analyzing, studying, and evaluating training and instruction for higher level approval; AND identifying problems and recommending solutions.

Education
In lieu of the specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
- I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
- I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR
- I have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled OR
- I have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
