This position serves as a Program Support Assistant (PSA) for Connected Care Service of the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System. The incumbent establishes priorities for accomplishment of the various responsibilities inherent within a complex, multi-specialty organization, as well as handling multiple and varied interruptions and additional unpredictable work assignments.
Duties
Duties are not all inclusive:
The employee will enroll Veterans in Virtual Health Resource Center programs including
authentication and credential management.
The employee will greet and assist veterans, families and staff with a positive attitude and customer
service.
The employee will maintain marketing plan and SharePoint, ensuring tasks are completed.
The employee will maintain Virtual Health Resource calendar, scheduling events as needed.
The employee will collect Virtual Health Resource Center trackers and input data into the LEAF
system.
The employee will pull Virtual Health Resource Center Power BI data and present to Connected
Care - Telehealth Service Facility Telehealth Coordinator.
The employee attends and participates in all in-services and training opportunities.
Training also occurs on a contextual basis, in response to requests for troubleshooting support.
Because the incumbent has regular contact with field staff and telehealth end-users, he/she typically
identifies opportunities for training development opportunities, communicates those needs to the
Facility Telehealth manager, VISN Telehealth Program Manager, and National Telehealth Training
Center Staffs. Collaborates with these entities to develop training by serving as a subject matter
expert.
The employee will travel to clinical sites throughout their VHA health care system as needed.
The employee will participate at forums, conferences, and meetings relating to the Virtual Health
Resource Center.
The employee will track clinical and administrative staff required Telehealth training (in collaboration
with facility Telehealth staff) to ensure program staff has the educational background, experience,
training, and certifications consistent with the national Telehealth standards.
The employee is responsible for safeguarding patient records during visit in accordance with the
Privacy Act and Medical Center policies.
Work Schedule: Mon - Friday; 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Compressed/Flexible: To be discussed with supervisor.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/23/2025.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: receiving and screening telephone calls and visitors, using sound judgement as to the relative importance of each call and visits, and determining who to refer visitors/calls to. Experienced in typing letters, memorandums, reports, meeting minutes. Keeps an accurate calendar of staff and program events. Provides customers with consistent information according to established policies and objectives. Create and update inventory of office supplies, and assure the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations. Previous experience as a Timekeeper and experienced in making travel arrangements.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some light physical effort may be required such as walking long distances throughout the medical facility, standing, etc.
