Duties
Serve as Chief of the Recruiting and Housing Section.
Responsible for the overall planning, directing, coordinating, training, reviewing, and supervising all activities of the Section.
Manage the acquisition of interests in real property to ensure successful execution of real estate projects.
Monitor the execution of a real estate acquisition program to ensure priorities are met.
Plan real estate acquisition projects to ensure civil and military program goals are accomplished.
Oversee employee work assignments for a real estate office to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
Represent a real estate office in negotiations involving the acquisition of interests in real property.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One-year supervisory probation period may or may not be required.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing the acquisition of interests in real property for civil or military programs; AND 2) Negotiating the acquisition of interests in real property for a real estate office; AND 3) Providing advice related to acquisition programs for a real estate office. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
