Duties

You will perform maintenance on wastewater collection systems and lift stations, performing routing repairs/modifications to existing pipelines and clean outs on main and lateral lines of the wastewater collection system. You will assist with condition assessments of wastewater collection system including mains, laterals, and manholes using closed-circuit television (CCTV) equipment. You will cleans, flush, and clear collection system by using chemicals and hand or trailer mounted jetting equipment, operating specialized sewer line cleaning equipment, and servicing line cleaning equipment. You will assist in pumping collection system blockages to prevent spills and/or maintain level while repairs are being made to the system. You will make repairs to concrete and brick manholes by removing portions of structures, mixing and spreading mortar, forms, lays, and finishes concrete surfaces, and prepares, paints, and labels manholes and associated appurtenances. You will prepare and maintains computerized and written records related to work performed on the wastewater collection system installation, repair, and maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You must have normal vision and hearing with or without correctives and have the ability to distinguish basic colors.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a Bargaining Unit position.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to perform the Duties of the Position without More than Normal Supervision.
