Duties

You will install grease traps, water heaters, bath tubs, sinks, floor drains, urinals, and other special fixtures when required. You will install hot and cold water piping systems in all types of buildings using copper and wrought iron pipe. You will check, locate and repair water mains and fire hydrant valves. You will use hand portable tools and equipment in the performance of the job.

• This is a Bargaining Unit position.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Sample tasks for this position inclujde: The ability to perform common tasks including operating equipment such as power driven pipe threading machines, abrasive cutters, and portable pumps. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
