About the Position: The Security and Law Enforcement Office organizes required law enforcement, anti-terrorism/force protection, and physical, information, personnel, and operations security to provide advice, assistance, and management oversight for the protection of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District.
Duties
Direct, plan, develop, coordinate, and manage programs designed to protect personnel, classified and sensitive unclassified information, material, operations, and/or facilities from compromise, unauthorized disclosure, and criminal acts.
Responsible for all aspects of the administration and management of the Security and Law Enforcement office to include annual budget preparation, and preparation and submission of all required reports.
Act as a liaison with Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies.
Provide staff management and supervision of the Seattle District security personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position required to be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state issued driver's license.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying security procedures and managing at least 2 security programs in the following disciplines: physical security program, anti-terrorism/force protection program, personnel security program and/or information security program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
