Duties

You will provide individual and group WFL education, training, information, and referrals to commands, military leadership, service members, military families, Ombudsmen, and Family Readiness Groups. You will interview and assess the customer’s needs and concerns, such as relocation, mobilization and deployment readiness, career and employment readiness financial readiness, personal and family life readiness. You will work with clients to prioritize issues and develop plans and goals tailored to their needs and concerns. You will conduct personal and family life readiness education and training to address the wide range of challenges identified in the community. You will assist leaders at all levels with developing individualized training plans for specific commands/units based upon community needs assessments.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized Experience may include: 1. Planning, implementing and administering family life services and activities to support military members, retirees and their families.2. Developing activities, programs and services to improve quality of life for community members in aspects of career, social, financial, health and community.3. Provide training and information on a variety of Quality-of-Life Programs to communicate available resources to community including financial concerns, transitions, deployment, stress, etc.4.Collaborate with military members, leaders and community members to execute a multi-department installation to manage events, activities and programs. Education


In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
