Thia position Is located In the Office of the Associate Chief of Staff/Education (ACOS/E), who Is responsible for managing and directing the Education Support Service Line. The Service Line provides integrated, comprehensive and cost-effective planning and delivery of education and training services and programs required to support the medical center service lines, employees, patients and Families, and other stakeholder groups.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to: Provide secretarial and administrative support for the office of the Chief. Maintaining calendars and recording/arranging meetings Provides general clerical support services such as answering telephone, referring visitors or providing information about the office. Edits letters, composes letters and reports, reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness. Services as minute's recorder for the service during meetings. Develops standard of form letters and replies to inquiries. Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings and/ or coordinates conferences. Serves as timekeeper for the service. Ensures time is posted accurately and all leave requests are submitted properly. Purchases supplies and equipment for the office by using purchase card. Answers questions concerning policies and procedures related to support/office services. Incumbent is responsible for receiving, scheduling, referring and contacting executive leadership, service line administrators., VISN staff and person outside the agency ranging from other federal agencies to the general public. Screens the Chiefs calls and determines if the call requires their immediate attention. Fund Control Point Clerk. Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/16/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: ability to organize, multi-task, manage databases and work assignments in order to meet deadlines; extensive experience with grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting documents, completing forms, and the use of common terminology used to review correspondence and health care system memoranda.; knowledge of computerized information systems, in order to assess and analyze data to include, word processing, spreadsheets and various other data/information retrieval systems or methods; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; experience with executive leadership's responsibilities, priorities, commitments, and policies in order to make appointments, assign and follow-up on suspense dates, refer calls and visitors, and provide back-up information for correspondence, reports, appointments, and meetings; experience with rules, regulations, and procedures on administrative reporting and control requirements.
