This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Revenue and Remittance Management Division. As a Financial Program Specialist, you will be supporting a Program Manager by working on system's development and enhancements and helping manage all day-to-day operational functions required of the assigned program.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To be eligible for the Recent Graduates Program, applicants must have, within the previous 2 years*, completed all educational requirements for a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution. For more information on education requirements go to Treasury's Pathways Program.
*Veterans who, due to a military service obligation, were precluded from applying to a Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the 2 year eligibility period may have their eligibility period extended so that they receive the full 2 years of eligibility. The remaining 2-year eligibility period will begin upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. The veteran's eligibility period may not extend beyond 6 years from the date of completion of all requirements of an academic course of study.

The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-7
A. Education- In the Recent Graduates Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: One full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or equivalent) in an accredited college or university, OR have a bachelor's degree and meet one of the following requirements for superior academic achievement: A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last 2 years of study, or a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses in the major field of study or those courses in the major completed in the last 2 years of study, or rank in the upper one third of the class in the college, university, or major subdivision, or membership in a national honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.
OR
B. Experience: For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes performing administrative work associated with financial systems or programs. Examples of this experience could include:
-Working with customers to provide guidance and resolve problems; OR
-Aiding the development of communication materials such as letters, presentations, training aids, and fact sheets; OR
-Gathering data to produce reports and queries from various systems or databases; OR
-Assisting with the preparation of data analysis (such as statistical summaries, comparisons, identification of trends and patterns, documenting process flows) and presentations for meetings and briefings that effectively and accurately display program information to individuals or groups.

C. You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
For the GS-09
A. Education- In the Recent Graduates Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
B. Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes experience providing suggestions to improve financial programs, processes, or systems to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of operations.
OR
-Applying analytical techniques to identify and resolve issues or problems which makes for a more efficient process; OR
-Providing guidance and helping to resolve problems associated with systems or programs to improve operations; OR
-Assisting with the evaluation of new technology, proposed process, or system changes and determining the impact on systems or programs.
OR
C. You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
