You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY DIVISION of OFFICE OF NAVAL RESEARCH.

Duties

You will provide advice and oversee the execution concerning the development, planning, and implementation of physical security processes. You will be responsible for oversight of the physical security processes and requirements for all ONR Field sites across the country. You will serve as the ONR Subject Matter Expert in the area of Physical Security. You will provide training, promote awareness, monitor, and take action to improve the operating environment within the HQ.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for DEMO jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower band level. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band (NO-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: (1) conducting physical security surveys, reviews and assessments of facilities; (2) developing emergency planning and contingency management plans for the physical security of an organization and its field activities; (3) coordinating with external agencies, such as local fire and police departments, to develop physical security policy, emergency planning procedures and antiterrorism/force protection processes, (4) providing advice to field offices on physical security issues; and (5) providing training or promoting awareness of physical security programs to employees.
