You will serve as a IT Specialist (PLCYPLN/CUSTSPT) in the Command Operations Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will apply expert program management, leadership and technical skills to ensure appropriate and expert Information Technology and Management planning, design, development, execution and monitoring of document management and workflow projects. You will be responsible for effective management of system acquisition, software development, and support. You will consult with and derive information from a wide variety of sources and integrate information to accomplish assigned tasks. You will facilitate collaborative efforts between customer representatives and analysts/designers to define operational requirements. You will provide assistance to internal users and external sites for the implementation and scheduling of standard software releases. You will ensure code, hardware/software configuration items, back-up/recovery procedures, installation procedures, architecture schema, and documentation are entered into standard software tools.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of specialized information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.) Providing lead technical expertise and guidance, program management, and consultancy and liason. 2.) Facilitating collaborative efforts between customer representatives and analysts/designers to define operational requirements and parameters. 3.) Ensuring appropriate consideration of the differing needs and operating parameters of customers, including those with different operational focuses and priorities. 4.) Performing the planning and coordination of system software releases. 5.) Providing consulting services to local customers on particular programs or applications.
