This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Policy (OASP), which provides advice and assistance to the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Department on matters of policy development, evaluation, regulations, and legislation that will improve the lives of workers, retirees, and their families.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Supports the Administrative Officer with the technical oversight of OASP administrative and management programs, operations, and activities. Makes recommendations concerning management issues and problems that directly affect agency administrative and operational functions.
Assists with management of OASP budget expenses. Prepares budget estimates and scheduled reviews. Provides input in the development of the OASP operating budget. Assists the Administrative Officer with budget preparation.
Monitors and evaluates expenditures and staffing levels. Advises the Administrative Officer on financial management matters to include planning, programming, and reconciliation. Works collaboratively with leadership and staff in developing and managing project budgets and identifying issues for resolution.
Coordinates the use of budget and financial management systems with financial staff. Supports the resolution of identified budget issues, and generates metrics and reports on program impacts. Establishes and maintains the financial database.
Provides oversight of all procurement activities and ensures proper training, guidance, support, and advice are provided to staff.
Requirements

Applicantsmust have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13 in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Specialized experience must be reflected in your resume and must include 2 of the 3 the following:
1. Prepares budget estimates and scheduled reviews, monitors and evaluates expenditures and staffing levels, and/or managing projects budgets and identifying issues for resolution.
2. Demonstrates excellent analytical skills by devising strategies for defining operational, administrative, and business functions and/or
3. Experience evaluating and editing her/ his work output and work products of others.
